Perhaps, sex anchored in gender became a defining act of the 45th Presidency !

Someone asked how did sex become the defining or anchor element of this 45th Presidential campaign?

With less than  30 days to go to the end of this race it appears now full blown about confirmed sexism, casual banter on sexual assault, and the deed of sex. Contrary to normal expectations it is not about policy positions, economic solutions and a visionary plan for the leading democracy in the world and its role in a global setting.

Need I remind us the 45th Presidency contest of America squares off a man who is a business man, celebrity personality who owns the Mrs. Universe beauty pageant and a woman who has cut her teeth in politics for the last 3 decades, she is defined as the former First Lady, the former Governor of New York later Secretary of State and now the historically first woman nominee for high office from in America’s political history.

From the early days of the primaries seasoned political commentators found it difficult to make sense of the campaign as it played out in the Republican Party party candidates that squared off.

This contest was always skewed it was always going to be a distracted race.

It’s a race with new or should I say unconventional tactics. It’s a race of firsts in many ways. Trump has risen to Republican nomination with the highest percentage margin ever in the Republican Convention.

The race though in appearance was a closer call for the better part of the Democratic primaries with the socialist Bernie Sanders. Yet despite that the DNC delivered a woman nominee with more than sufficient lead meaning the first ever in American history.

This race squares off a man and a woman, history and the future, sense nonsense. A claim of making America great again and a claim of building stronger better.

The race is about someone who finds it’s extremely difficult to focus on issues in a structured sense who perhaps in the words of Ol’ blue eyes have decided “I did it my way” and a person who is really a technocrat that represents for some the establishment, someone who is held directly responsible for a role in where America finds itself. Someone who wants to continue building on the work of the 44th presidency.

Trump went as low as discussing the male organ of Marco Rubio, and how happy Melania Trump is with his male organ. Right here we all should have read the tell tale signs of how unorthodox this race will be.

He went on to express a view on a lady who interviewed him on her menstrual cycle. Attempting to use it to insult her.

Trump has expressed views on Rosie O’ Donnell whom he called a pig, he talks about women with their physical bodies as the only defining reference point of the totality of their humanity.

Trump then was exposed for having insulted the Ms. 1996 Universe as Mrs piggy and Ms. House keeping. He stayed awake one night to tweet at 3am on Machado, accusing her of a sex tape which does not exist.

We heard how Trump fired women employees because of their appearances.  If they had gain weight he would have them leave and if they were not beautiful they needed to be let go off.

One word that constantly comes up in Trump’s public speaking is the word beautiful,  he uses this to describe the creation of jobs, he uses this to explain his defense policy, he uses it to define his presidency, he uses it to explain his understanding of relations and you have guessed right Donald uses this in describing women.

This race we now can say for all intends and purposes have become a race about sex not gender but sexism, sexual assault and sex the act and its accompanying antics as played out in the mouth, acts and deeds of the Republican nominee.

Trump has consistently been captured on women, he has always found a way to express his silly, unsavory and plain lewd comments on women.

Being the first time that a woman contest Americans with all its civil liberties and freedoms has never been here. It’s a rubicon America must pass.

Then the Washington Post who have been siting on this recorded chat between Trump and Billy Bush breaks. We now hear Trump in his own words expressing his lewd advances on married women. We hear Trump in vintage style boasting in explicit sense sharing his experiences, his desires and his power over women because his stardom affords him to grope women and they have no power to challenge him.

Trump has in the first debate in one of his weakest moments said ” I was going to hurt Hillary so bad,  but I considered Chelsea”. It is then too be accepted that Trump was going to go after Bill Clinton, his misdeeds, his philandering his accusations leveled by women against him. We all know Bill Clinton faced an impeachment and was brought before hearings.

Trump has decided he will tag Hillary Clinton with Bill’s infidelities indiscretions.

Perhaps what is missed in the whole debate is Trump has not been contesting with Hillary Clinton she is beneath him because of her gender.

How do we know this? Well Trump has consistently tagged Hillary with Barack Obama for all political decisions good bad and ugly. He has consistently seen it fit make Hillary a package deal with a male figure the real person her feels himself worthy to square off against.

He has now tagged Hillary Clinton with Bill Clinton the means by which he can be equal with Bill Clinton again defacing Hillary the contender for high office.

Trump’s psyche on women is glaringly shown in this that he does not afford Hillary Clinton any identity of her own outside the scope of a man if it’s not Barack Obama then it’s Bill Clinton. Tonight he seeks to bring that same mind using women to accuse Hillary for abetting bill Clifton’s sins. Hillary Clinton is not respected as a contender in the psyche of Trump, this grandmother can never be his competition in his world women do not have that ability to rise above their objectified physical appearances. The thought that a woman can beat him is a personal nightmare for Trump.

Instead of coming out with an honest reflection of a contrite apology he opts to show off Bill Clinton’s history. Meaning Trump has no remorse he has no desire to apologize, he wants to be right and the American women need an unreserved apology.

My advice to Hillary tonight don’t wallow with Trump in the pigsty of a shameless sick reality show.

Tonight stick to policy issues, stick with issues of true relevance and not the soap opera. In the words of Michelle Obama – when they go low we go high” let this guide you tonight.

Haiti a Cry!

Haiti, a Cry

The seagull retorts
a lonesome cry,
all night long,
the ocean rumbled,
gusty mighty winds,
drive a storm for miles on end,
lightning flashes on toe..
and dark clouds hover…

Until you Haiti,
the eye of the storm
Haiti oh Haiti!
when will you be free?
Haiti oh Haiti!
what is your sin?

where is your honor ?
carnage and mayhem your menu,
if only we knew !

Poverty and squalor,
where swine feeds in sewer
and children play too…
cholera threatens…

High winds of destruction
howl relentlessly
storms of hate brew tirelessly
angry floods unleashed
from untold reservoir

Jobs and work opportunity
a fading mirage…
Haiti what is your children’s hope ?

Battered by Gilbert,
that same one –
he swept up all them pigs…

Cornered and tested
by a lusty Sandy
she den ripped your clothes off your bak…
now Matthew, him came too…
ravaging at you…
beating on your doors,
again taking where there is nothing!

Why Haiti when Haiti !
How long Haiti?
What is the gods’displeasure?

A week too much for Trump, the Bully suffers complete meltdown!

A week too much for Trump, the Bully suffers complete meltdown!

There is an old adage that says, “every dog gets his day, but a bulldog gets a weekend” permit me to add ‘but a bully gets a week’. Donald J Trump had his worst week ever in this presidential campaign and that includes the primaries.

The Republican Party nominee has haemorrhaged severely this week. I fear no contradiction to claim Trump has lost the 45th presidential race in this momentous decisive week, which was not bruising but crushing signalling the end for the pouted-lipped one. With 38 days to go before America casts its vote on November 8, 2016, the Republican party leaders must be pulling their hair out of heads if they have any left. They must be agonizing that they ever could have allowed this temperamental, free running training and shallow a character to define the 45th Presidential contest for ruling America.

Cut back to the week that was, it all started on Monday night the first of 3 debates lined up and leading up to the elections day marked as November 8, 2016. Donald showed up in his blue tie and not his signature red, suggesting we had hoped to see a more refined, focused and on point issue driven presidential debate.

He pretended to be that sensible for at least 20 minutes of the debate as I watched it. Some even believe Trump held his own for the first 30 minutes trying hard to look presidential. However of the 6 core questions the moderator asked Trump never answered any of the questions in comprehensive sense these included questions ranging from security, nuclear, power, the economy, USA international partners.

What unfolded next was he was being trumped by an ace card Clinton an old hand with over 30 years experience in the political power and economy sectors produced in reminding Trump of his vituperative and sardonic statements levelled against the former Ms. Universe, Alicia Machado.

As Clinton begin to remind Trump of his history in a cameo of words Trumps’ facial appearance change, he became unsettled, restless and his mouth pouted in displeasure. He attempted to remonstrate with a half-hearted retort of  “where did you get that from”.

Little did Trump know Machado was in the crowd, she had recently secured her USA citizen status and is legible to vote on November 8, 2016. Clinton sensing she had drawn blood kept chewing on that proverbial bone until Donald the gangsta showed up. It does not take much to get the thin-skinned Trump to show up. He decided to make his own rules interrupting Hillary 57 times when she interrupted him 18times.

Donald looked vulnerable, shaken and hurt and found himself struggling to focus on the subjects the moderator had them to answer. His only target now was to deal with this 1996 Ms. Universe and Clinton, thus he suffered a lapse in concentration not that it takes much to get Trump side-tracked. The Machado story so unsettled Trump that he kept as late as Friday morning tweeting on her. Then again beauty pageants is a major for Donald, so you can imagine everything that concerns the actual real issues making up the presidential debate had to wait because Trump’s favourite subject is up for discussion.

As in the case earlier when he personalized his attack on a fallen hero’s parents, Trump took aim at Machado and seeks to annihilate her, it was not enough for him reminding all how fat she became calling her Ms. House Keeping he had to bring some salacious sex tape story totally the figment of his imagination.  This week Trump was shown as one that has an allergy for truth. He does create his own truths and he believes them despite the evidence lacking.

Trump for the balance of the debate that lasted 90 minutes proved incoherent with his now standard rhetoric of fear of a USA that is doing badly on all fronts.

Trump has consciously refused to read any official statistic on job creation, benefits to the wealthy and poor and the advancement of the USA citizens on a number of fronts under the Obama administration. These statistics are readily available in particularly for the period 2015, which shows a growing economy some significant job creation figures and an improvement in betterment of life. He refuses to appreciate where the USA was in 2008, when it teeters on depression similar to the 1930’s.

Perhaps a concession to this reality would mean his cliché “make America great again”, would be proven a fallacy.

Donald therefore lost the first of 3 debates battered by a seasoned politician Hillary Clinton, we must wait to see how he will perform on the balance scheduled to take place on October 9 and 19th respectively.

No soon has this debate ended and Trump at his earliest opportunity claimed all the polls had him to have won the debate. Donald even sighted polls from news agencies that have no polls.

Fundamental to Donald Trump’s belief system is a flawed and deceptive sophism that his truth is the absolute truth. Flowing from this warped thinking is his extended belief that if he repeats something 5 times it will somehow by symbiosis become the truth. This debate shows how the guy who threatens to build a wall between the USA and Mexico hit a concrete wall.

His many insulting statements over the period of more than 30 years on his favourite subject of woman in beauty pageants have come to bite him in the butt. This is a stinging bite because his chauvinistic tendencies and testosterone worship affords him an inalienable right to call the Ms. Universe 1996 a Ms. Piggy.

His undeniable narrow racist true identity affords him to refer to her as Ms. House-Keeping as a jab at insulting the Hispanic community.

These caustic words of Trump, confirms the misogynist Trump, the chauvinist Trump the racist who had said many things to and about minorities confirming his false racial superiority.

With 38 days to go the aforementioned characteristics undeniably associated with Donald stubbornly refuse to let go and ultimately has now defined his presidential pursuit.

As an outflow of the misogyny trapped Trump, we heard that Trump’s former workers claim how he would fire women for gaining weight and how he would insist on them being beautiful and fire the ugly ones.

Trump clearly objectifies women, and gives them no equal respect, we therefore must appreciate his deep anger to square of against a woman, usually he rules over them and they are half-humans as objects of his judgment. What most doesn’t understand is what irks the daylights out of Trump is that he the Don must square of against a grandmother and she may beat him. This causes Trump to stay up at night resorting to tweeting at 3 am in the morning.

To add insult to injury in the same week we are treated to information that Donald Trump the self-proclaimed billionaire whose father gave him $14million to start his business broke the law when he decided to trade with Cuba during a period when Cuba was a pariah state and an embargo existed.

Just when you thought cut the goofed citrus make-up one some slack, we hear that Trump finds himself in a storm with pressure on him revealing his tax status. He has despite many requests been stubbornly insisting that he is under audit and therefore can’t make known his tax. Warren Buffet of Berkshire a true billionaire challenged him to a cup of coffee where both of them would share with each other their tax returns.

Trump we hear has effectively not paid taxes for 18 years filing losses of $900m for 2005. In Trump and Rudi Giuliani’s world this makes Trump a brilliant business according to them.

Instead of sleep Trump decided on Thursday night to have a stay awake he was going to respond to the former Ms. Universe and Hillary Clinton.

Donald Trump decided to tweet at the unholy hour of 3 am, an act Newt Gingrich condemns vehemently in saying “he better get it into his head you don’t tweet at 3am in the morning period”.

Yet Trump will tweet because he is his own advisor and he has something to say and guess what he is business success why should he listen to anyone.

He believed he had an ace up his sleeve, namely a sex tape. The truth is a non-existing tape. Again Donald in his own world spreading lies. In a strange twist of events we now hear there is a sex tape but the actor of this sex tape is the republican nominee Donald J. Trump.

Now you know why he in the primaries could fuss about Marco Rubio’s biological male organ. You know how he on his wedding day could take radio presenter Howard Stern one side and give him some valuable and wise advise “I tell you Howard vagina is expensive”.  So it is not strange that Trump can be starring in a sex tape.

One can only guess what is going on in the Republican Party circles as they see this run away train crashing with their party on toe. The Republican Party may never be able to recover from this colossal mistake of a nominee. Yet the Republican Party who struggles to grow their base is in for more trouble. When Clinton takes this 45th Presidential race and stay the course for her two terms, the USA will be ready for a Latino President, which may mean the next time a Republican Party president could be after 2032. That is a mighty long time since lanky Barack Obama took his hoop to the White House and a generation of voters would have grown use to voting in absence of a white male, the Republican Party’s worship.

Yet its presidential nominee in this race has suffered a tangible and serious meltdown and in my assessment as a bully had his proverbial week. We saw how this wax-man melts into a coagulum of nothingness. One thing is clear America’s women will punish this misogynist come November 2016.

Is the debate not FREED Education rather than FEES- Free Education?

Is the debate not FREED Education rather than FEES- Free Education?

The subject of Free Education has since 2014 gripped with bigger intensity the panaplea of our national consciousness. We first heard this in the caption #feesmustfall.

Today the claim for free education is pronounced and has shown in jolts of confused debate. There are those who believe education must be free. There are those who hold education for the poor must be free, and then there are those who hold education is an inalienable right therefore all must have access to it freely.

What our current discourse has not yet afforded us to have access is the crystallised thinking on the subject. We have yet to distil our collective thoughts to find the meridian and equilibrium for what is deemed for some a utopia and for others a delay of what is rightfully theirs.

It is here that I seek to postulate the question of what is Free Education? In order to appreciate the notion of free education one must find a cardinal text, such is the Freedom Charter our own Magna Carta.

The late Oom Govan Mbeki, it is said never entertained anyone who off the cuff wanted to discuss the Freedom Charter with him. He would always insist that they both go and read it the night before and engage the next day. Herein lies for me a great mystery but a truth, for I concur with Oom Gov, too many discuss and talk the Freedom Charter from an uninformed place and lack of due exegesis.

The Freedom Charter that historical document articulates itself on the subject of education in the following manner: “The doors of learning shall be opened to all” it proceeds to say the following on higher learning “Higher Education and technical training shall be opened to all by means of state allowances and scholarship on the basis of merit”.

Like most dated scripts and historical texts those later through the lenses and filters of their own current circumstances will interpret it. We must be led to accept that the text must first stand in its own epoch before we can apply it to a timeless epoch.

Therefore we must prove salient in our search for a hermeneutic key and expression of what the Freedom Charter meant for the immediate moment of its articulation. The Freedom Charter therefore like all dated texts must first be understood in the context of its own milieu. By the time the Charter is articulated education in conflated SA presented a stark different picture to what we know in 2016.  We know we had at least 19 different racialized and tribal based systems of education during apartheid.

The right to access tertiary education for a “black” or African was non –existent. The opportunity to advance in education was a scarce commodity. Thus if we going to appreciate the Freedom Charter in objective reflection we must pause to acknowledge we are not in the same space place or time as in 1955.

I want to postulate should we not rather talk of FREED EDUCATION in 2016 then FREE education.

My second challenge is how free education is naturally today in one-dimensional sense of precarious and irresponsible manner bandied around as that which came to be defined in moribund sense as non- fee – education?

As an outflow of this my third challenge with the Free Education crowd is assimilated in the fact that there is nodal truculence if not a consciousness to engage the subject of free education wider than the narrow fees subject.

The question becomes why the convenient shyness to engage honestly on the subject? Is its possible that those who scream free education will have to contend that this Democratic  State has gone much further than what the Freedom Charter vocalized itself on education? Will we have to accept that the doors of learning in public sense are readily opened and the evidence of such is indisputable? Perhaps we must ask the following questions calmly and resolutely what are the main characteristics of a FREED Education?

Who are the designated primary and secondary beneficiaries of a FREED education?

Are their degrees of freedom in a FREED education and are the beneficiaries a homogenous group or groups?

What does FREED education meaning in current curriculum structural fit and content parity for much needed African input and expression?

What does FREED education mean in the current degree qualifications expression?

We must ask how does the Gramsci model of organic intellectualism fit the current paradigm and how will it in a FREED education sense be made relevant in authenticity and authority?

We dare not shy away from probing who controls the levers of education from kindergarten to tertiary levels?

We must unequivocally what informs the pedagogy for FREED education?

We must ask what does the commercialization of education mean to the aspirations of Freed Education – how and where these intersect?

Ultimately we must ask can we continue with the same academici from apartheid, including BEE academici and trust them as custodians to deliver us in FREED education – if so why if not why not?

Is FREED education a conscious break with the past of colonial and apartheid anthropology influence?  If it is a conscious break where are the resource-materials  and research archives that challenges that which we came to know as gospel from the minds of colonial and apartheid intelligentsia?

What will the infrastructure of a FREED education institutions entail, and why ought it to be different? Is it different in ontology or response?

Where does FREED education intersect with a global notion of benchmarking when we did not agree the standards that is acceptable as global?

If the Freedom Charter is the base of this claim can we engage the freedom Freedom a Charter less in emotional rhetoric? At least we know those who protest today easily recite and quote from this aspect of the Freedom Charter.

We must engage in asking is the State providing scholarships to higher learning deserving students? The answer is yes, is this help informed by merit yes and no. It appears merit can be seen as opportunity based given a particular student or groups socio economic disposition status and conditions rendering them naturally poor.

Equally merit can directly reflect on students academic performances as condition for deserving of support from the State.

The current debate is conveniently silenced on the subject of merit in which students must earn State support. Why are we allowing this convenient snd deceptive silence to go unabated ?

Let it also be known today that contrary to wild claims those who protest today at our institutions are not the SA poor they are the SA recently privileged. Those who destroy our infrastructure are not from the proletariat. Those who intimidate others today are from a class definition that defines them as benefactors of ANC BEE policies and legislation. Their parents are the newly advantaged.

They went to private schools from grade 00 to matric. They have play station 4, X-box consoles and all other goodies. They are the iPhone 6, Nike shoes, LV brigade who gladly whenever sips on their favourite libations immanent in chivas – regal and shooters. These are those who know the luxury of at least two German sedans in their suburban yards.

I am afraid they don’t live in Pofadder, Kanyamazane, Flagstaff, Lenyenye KoffieFontein, De Aar or Putsonderwater , they live in the sprawling suburbs.

I fear no contradiction to remonstrate their parents can afford because they have always afforded to pay. Their parents have at least for the last 12-14 years afforded to pay fees of between R4500-R9000 per month per child at private schools. I call it for pure bragging rights to claim where their children attend as they socialized with those they sought to impress. The same parents we are told today cannot afford R5000 per month to get a degree over a 36-month period paid for.

We must ask why the claim of free education is today used by the very empowered in the name of the poor? We must ask why the poor is abused by the new and old privileged who today have parents in key positions who gloat over their children’s role in a #feesmustfallcampaign?

It is therefore my conviction that unless we are willing to engage in FREED Education in its totality we must not be hoodwinked and weigh-laid into falling for the shallow calls of free education as ONLY evidenced in fees free education.
